Weekly Drop Metro Vancouver Detached – June 2, 2014

Here are the 10 detached properties in Metro Vancouver (Vancouver West, Vancouver East, Burnaby, Richmond, North Vancouver and West Vancouver) that changed their price or were relisted under a new MLS number the previous week AND have dropped the largest percentage overall from their original asking price.  There are some gaps in assessment data – I have some old data and can pull up 2013 but if you see years missed it is because I just don’t have the information available.

There can’t possibly be a more gormless million dollar (let’s not haggle over semantics – $928k is close enough) home????

      Yes, but is is on a busy street with many other houses lacking in character.
      The interior must be equally inspiring as even VancouverCharacterHomes.com has no other photos.
      There is the Benz parked outside=prestige, right?

        I will summarize how I think the agent earned this commission:
        1) Parked leased vehicle in driveway
        2) Walked 30 steps back towards street
        3) Took one (1) photo
        4) Stitched together a write up by entering location specific details into the blanks in the template

    I guess more business for Genworth and AIG, whose share prices have been ripping to all time highs (along with the rest of the helium fueled, no volume equity and RE markets pretty much every where). Most I talk to acknowledge something is seriously wrong, but can’t put their finger on it. No one with half a brain wants to play anymore as a result. Eventually the music will stop abruptly, but it’s anyone’s guess as to what will trigger this and what year (or decade) this actually unfolds.

    #7. Has bad feng shui. To many angles, corners and sharp edged. Gonna cut-up the everytime he/she enters or leaves the house. Hence all the 8’s in the price. 🙂

        No need to by sorry. We’re grateful you are doing this labour of love for us all to enjoy.
        It would be nice to put a limit on the price, say $3~5M, so we don’t see listings only the rich can afford. They live by different rules and are usually not concerned about losing a measly million here and there.
